Cross-trainin', Dog-walkin' & Birdwatchin'

Walk: with Anne 7 Gracie, 2 miles @ 5:00 p.m.
Weather: Sunny & Windy, 25°F, 38% Humidity, Wind: From WSW @ 26 mph, gusting up to 33 mph; feels like 9°F.
Course: Around our neighborhood.

Despite a cold, I could not resist the seductive pull of this afternnon's bright sunshine, so I took the opportunity to go out for a brief walk. If walking, shoveling and pushing cars stuck in snow banks "count" as cross-training, then I did the minimum today.

I was especially glad to see some local sparrows out and about as they have unfortunately been absent from our backyard feeders for the past few wintry months. Gracie came upon some birds hiding from the winds in a leafless bush, in between her jumping in banks and sniffing snow.

Of course, Gracie could not fathom why they did not want to come down from the branches to play... in fact they hopped up to the higher branches to avoid her! Undeterred, Gracie ambled on searching for new snow banks to pounce in.
