Ubiquitous Bird Picture

On our way home this morning from my parents, as we pulled in the driveway, there was an American Robin (Turdus migratorius) sitting in the direct path of our car. As it flitted to the side yard, I asked my wife to hand me our camera as I was about to take a picture of the bird sitting below a bush.

My wife then asked, "Why do you take such ubiquitous pictures?"

"What do you a mean?" I responded, not quite fully understanding.

"Robins are everywhere, why take pictures of them?"
